Tracers was a fine example of the best in the young adult genre. It really effectively balanced themes of fantasy/paranormal with youth/teen storyline. I also think that there is a lot to be gathered from what happens to our protagonist, Jerry. At the surface it’s like a search for identity but it’s really about accomplishing something for a greater good and not being so concerned with the self.

I felt that the author, Jerome Gilden, was good at not over-packing too much, but allowing just enough meaning and heavy weight to keep the story quite strong. For young adults who want to get a taste of the fantasy genre, and vice versa, this is a stellar middle ground. There are plenty of unexpected events and high-stakes situations that really keep the reader engaged, so I liked it a lot. Great book, thanks a ton!
